Syl finally finished his rounds of the house and, other than the hole in the bottom of the wall in the first room and a broken window in the back, found it to be in good shape. The window was an easy fix if he could get his hands on some plywood of some kind, and the hole - since it didn't lead to the outside of the house - could stay where it was. There was plenty of furniture laying around and, even though it was a bit dusty, it was usable.
The demon re-arranged some of said furniture, pushing a couch in one direction while dragging a chair along with his tail. Despite his stature, Syl was incredibly strong, and making his new house his own didn't make him break a sweat. Finally after all that moving, he plopped down onto one of the large chairs - the one Jaissec had been in before, in fact, and let out a content sigh. He kicked off his boots and swung his legs up over the arm of the chair, using the other arm as a back rest. His wings folded in tightly to his back so he wouldnt' catch them on anything, and he rested his hands on the off-white bandages that wound around his chest as he closed his eyes.
"That was easy," he murmured to himself as one hand trailed up to toy with the golden coin that hung around his neck. Now that everything was in place, though, Syl knew it was only a matter of time before he got bored. He almost wished that the other demon hadn't left. He had been amusing, acting as if he could take on the larger demon even in his obviously worn-down state. That smirk returned to Syl's lips - the one that had creeped Jaissec out so well before - as he looked to the door. He could still smell the other demon, since he had quite a bit of human blood on him and, if he wanted to, he was sure he could follow it.
But no, he decided. He wanted to stay here for now and enjoy his new house. He could bother that demon later, if he felt like getting up and putting in the effort of tracking him down.

Jaissec slowly fell asleep in the small den-like space. This was actually pretty nice. It was well hidden and fairly warm. It could probably use a new blanket, the one left in here didn't look too pretty, but other than that, this was by far one of the better places he'd ever chosen to sleep. Only small creatures would find this little space easily, and anything small he could beat up no problem. By the time anything larger found the space, he would no doubt of heard them.
The demon felt fairly safe here, and so, was drifting off without much of a care. It was nice to let his body relax, even if he could never feel safe enough anywhere to relax completely. Even a little bit was nice. He had to stay partially alert though, even in his sleep. Otherwise he would be killed. That was just the way it was. No one ever truly relaxed in the dark part of the city. No one who lived, anyway. Unless they were so amazingly invincible that no one ever even tried to bother them. Or so amazingly pointless no one found them worth their time. But both of those were rare.
Demons and other creatures often got more angry at those who thought themselves invincible, and would try things even if they were destined to die. And little creatures not worth anyone's time were usually food to something at that point.
Despite not being able to relax entirely though, this was good enough for Jaissec at the moment. He actually liked this spot, even though it wasn't very high up and with a broken window for easy access or leave, much better than his current home. His current home was pretty safe, but when he slept he was still out in the open. This was nice.

Syl eventually drifted off to a light sleep - the chair was comfortable, what could he say! - and let his body recharge. He always liked being at the top of his game and walking as far as he had had drained just a bit of his energy. He was confident enough that no one would bother him to sleep out in the open like this because, yes, he was one of those people who thought - no, knew - that he was untouchable.
Back in the deeper part of the city he had been known by name and by face. The weaker creatures kept clear of him, and the stronger didn't bother him as he passed by. They knew what he was capable of. As much as he didn't like to waste time fighting, he could turn on his anger and fight like a...well, a demon. There was no fear of blood or gory sights and, like others of his kind, he seemed to thrive off of the pain and suffering of his opponent.
After a while, Syl's purple eyes fluttered open and he stretched. Ooh, comfy chair is comfy. He continued to lounge about for a while before deciding he should check out his surroundings now that he had found a place to call his own for the time being. After a breif sweep of the house to make sure nothing was in it, he locked the front door - locked doors generally meant someone lived there, after all - and carefully hopped out the broken window. He found a handy bit of wood that would work as a door for the opening for the time being, stuck it in place, and was on his way.
Every now and then he'd pass one of the main streets and catch a glimps of the Dome. He would squint at it but stop to stare. He always wondered what it was like in there. Bright, that was for certain, but what else? It hurt his eyes to look for too long, though, so he would continue down the alley ways until crossing another main street. Pause, stare, continue on, repeat.

Jaissec wasn't normally a dreamer. Usually he stayed just under the veil of sleep, and never ventured deep enough to let images consume him. He was always too alert, and dreams were distracting to him. Maybe it was because he was so exhausted, or maybe it was because he felt more safe in this little hole than he had in a long time, but either way, Jaissec dreamt this night.
In his dream everything was white. It wasn't blinding, like the white of the Light Dome, just a simple, comforting white. It was strange, since he couldn't recall ever seeing so much white in his life. All around him, from horizon to horizon it was white. He looked down and could clearly see the slight different shades of black he wore, and the red of his belt, the bright silver of his chain, and the purplish blue of his lock. Nothing had the dark blur around the edges like he usually saw in the Dark City. With light, everything was so clear.
Usually Jaissec would of hated it, and normally he would have described this as a nightmare, probably would later if he ever told anyone about it, but as he dreamt, a feeling of warmth and comfort came upon him. It was simple, and it was pointless, and when he reflected upon it, it would probably infuriate him, but right now... this strange feeling crawling upon him was something like... happiness?
Standing there, in that sea of white, Jaissec simply enjoyed the feeling. A feeling he would probably ever experience, in such innocent a way, only in a dream. The demon closed his eyes to enjoy the feeling washing over him more, but it disappeared instead. He was left with a vague feeling of loss and mourn that was quickly snuffed by the never ending black of a dreamless sleep.

After about the fifth time of his little pattern, Syl was able to stop and look at the Dome for longer periods of time than before. He stared, trying to pick out where the entrances were. He knew he wouldn't be allowed inside unless he had a damn good reason, and even then he'd be watched so close he wouldn't be able to breathe without someone noticing. Curiosity kept him from being bored, though, and he let his mind wander as he imagined what it was like on the other side of those guards. Bright, sophisticated, a hell of a lot better kept up than over hear, and he'd easily be the scariest thing in the city. Or most dangerous. Everyone would definitely respect him there and he would only have to flex his wings for flash a toothy smile to gain it.
The demon took a deep breath and let it out slowly, but froze as he started to breathe in again. There was that scent...that human mixed with demon blood. He looked down the alley he had just come down and then across the street to where it continued. Had he been following it coincidentally the whole time? Perhaps his subconscious had led him along the trail the other demon had taken. Either way, Syl was surprised that Jaissec had gotten as far as he had.
Interested now as to where the other demon had ended up, Syl continued down the alley, stopping every now and then to take another deep breath to make sure he was on the right trail. Yup. After a few more minutes of walking he came to a run-down building into which the scent disappeared. Syl stepped inside as if he owned the place and looked around, chuckling as he noticed the entire front room was empty. "At least he learned not to sleep out in the open," he commented to himself as he began to search the house, following that mixed scent.
Eventually it led him to a collapsed area of the house. Surprised that it seemed to lead into a small hole, he crouched down and took a deep breath again. Oh yes. He was in there. It was a bit too dark for him to see any definite signs that he was there, but there was a lumpy shape that appeared to be breathing. Satisfied that he had found his impromptu prey, Syl sat himself down outside and to the left of the hole. He'd wait here until Jaissec woke up. Hopefully he'd have rested for long enough to be a bit more entertaining than he had been last time.

The demon was starting to come around. His body had healed everything bad during his sleep, mostly. He still had a few of the worse bruises left over, and his body remained sore all over (jaw included), but the worse was over. He could easily fly home and reach it within a day now. Then he could really rest where he knew no one would bother him. Though, as he was coming to and remembering exactly where he was, he was a bit sad to have to leave such an ideal little crevice. Maybe he should consider moving to here instead? It wasn't like he had any attachments, and the life of a demon was basically on the move. Going when a home was ruined or a better one found.
When his eyes finally opened and he was brought to total awareness, Jaissec had a sinking feeling that something was off. What, though, he couldn't quite place. It made him feel a little jumpy and he decided to get up and look around instead laying there for a while to simply enjoy relaxing.
As he pulled himself up, he briefly remembered a dream about something white, and feeling happy. Jaissec mentally scoffed at the idea and curbed it. Dreams were useless and never made sense.
Emerging from the hole, the sinking feeling sunk all the way to the pit of his stomach, and his instincts told him to look to... the right?
He regretted looking the moment he saw him. The demon from before, Syl, was there.
Immediately Jaissec flew back, to his left, scooting along and his hands and feet since he had been on the floor. "GAH! YOU AGAIN! HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO THAT? How can you just sneak up on me without me--wait a minute... WHY THE HELL ARE YOU EVEN HERE?! What are you? A fucking stalker?! GET THE FUCK OUT!"
Childishly, Jaissec kicked up dust from the ground in the direction of the other. Afterwords, he scrambled up along the wall to a standing position, so that he didn't look as pathetic as he felt sitting there against a wall on the ground while freaking out.

Syl was only there for about a half hour before he heard movement inside the cave-like area. He held very still as shuffling and clinking indicated that, yes, Jaissec was in there. He was curious about that chain and decided he'd ask once the other demon got out of his little hidey-hole. He'd also tell him he should really bathe after fighting. If a human's blood dries on you it takes forever to get that smell out.
Finally the noises got louder and out popped the smaller demon. Syl fixed a half smile, half smirk on his face and rested his hands on his knees as Jaissec turned and looked at him...and freaked out. The taller demon's eyes widened as the shorter began scuttling backwards across the floor like a crab, on his hands and feet as he yelled. Well, seemed the slur was gone, at least. As he continued to yell, Syl couldn't help but start to laugh.
By the time Jaissec was standing and done yelling, Syl was laughing so loud he barely heard 'get the fuck out'. His laughter wasn't creepy by any means of the word, but that grin that went along with it certainly wasn't one of happiness or humor. It was an almost mocking look and it didn't really go with the laugh, but that didn't seem to bother Syl.
"Lets...start with the first question," he said as the laughter died down to a chuckle. He pushed himself up off the floor and brushed a hand over his bum to clear it of any dirt he had been sitting on. "How the hell did I do that...that, I'm assuming, is finding you. Quite simple. Not very many creatures smell like human and demon. Considering you smelled like that back in my house, I could only assume it was you. Next...how can I sneak up on you without you...noticing you, I would assume. Quite simple. You were sleeping. Although I'm sure I could sneak up on you if I wanted to while you were awake, as well."
Syl ticked off each question on one finger as he spoke. It was a habit he had: making lists and giving each point a finger. "Why am I here? Bored. Went out for a walk, smelled that odd mixed scent, followed it. What am I? A demon. A stalker? Hardly. There, that seems to cover all the questions. My turn." Yup, this was totally normal. Just following people around like this. Yup.
"Why is that chain around your neck?" Syl didn't waste any time getting to his own question. He had had a while to think, after all, and it was really bugging him.

He hated that the other started laughing at him. He hated that. What he hated more was that it was a nice laugh. A laugh he wouldn't mind laughing with. Yes, he hated that fact immensely. The only thing that felt right with the world, but something he was also coming to hate, was that stupid smirky-smile that the other demon had... ALL THE TIME. Seriously, Jaissec wondered if it EVER left this guy's face. How could someone laugh like that and smile like... that?! It had to be permanently glued there. A case of I'm-better-than-you syndrome to the extreme.
And when Syl started answering his questions... quoting his words and putting them out to sound so lame, Jaissec was seriously ready to punch the demon's face in. About a million times. The only reason he didn't was... well, Jaissec didn't really know why. It wasn't fear. Oh hell no, like he'd ever be a victim of fear. Just... he wasn't sure if attacking at this moment would be the smartest choice. This guy was demon, he probably should use at least a little bit of strategy against him.
When the other demon finished, Jaissec ignored the question firstly for a few retorts of his own, "Shut up! I don't smell, and I'm not oblivious! Under normal circumstances, you wouldn't even be able to get within 20 feet of me without me noticing! So don't kid yourself, fool! And I'm not an idiot, you know exactly what I meant--I wasn't asking what species you were, dipshit! Fucking playing all cool and mighty like the stupid cocky bastard you are! Gah! If you were so interested in me, why didn't you just get it out of the way last time then? Or maybe you aren't a stalker, maybe you just get off on bugging people."
While explaining to the guy how wrong he was, Jaissec slowly crouched, not low, but enough for him to spring one way or another at any moment. He felt like being on edge and prepared was a smart choice around this Syl guy.
"And my chain is my own damn business. Don't go poking your nose into other people's private things," Jaissec snapped, finally getting to Syl's question. Instinctively, the demon reached up with his sleeveless arm to grasp at his chain, holding it tightly; protectively. A human getting a hold of it was one thing, but a demon--and a weirdo like this one? Completely different ball park.

Syl couldn't get enough of this guy. Why was he so angry all the time? Whatever his reasons were, they were hilarious, and thus the demon stuck around. No one had ever been this abrasive around him before, and it was interesting to him how Jaissec managed to pull that off. Usually people were either terrified of him - he's a huge demon, after all - or very quiet and respectful. That could either be due to fear but hiding it, or being overwhelmed by his awesomeness.
Before starting to answer the one simple question he has asked, Jaissec continued to amuse Syl by snapping back at him. "Darkness, but you've got a foul mouth. You don't need to be so vulgar, Jaissec. I'm not here to harm you," he said smoothly, making sure to use as little aggression in his voice as was demonically possible. "You do smell, but only of human blood. It's not terribly strong and, while it certainly isn't my air freshener of choice, it's bearable. Merely pointing it out in case you forgot." Surely the other demon could notice it. Still, a friendly reminder didn't hurt.
"And I'm certainly no stalker," Syl added as he examined his nails, which were a bit dirty from moving the furniture all over the place a while before. He slid his thumb nail under his others to get rid of the dirt as he continued to speak. "Just new to this section of own and looking for something to keep me entertained. I couldn't be bothered before, as I had to sort out my new living space, but when I realized you were close by after taking a stroll, I decided to give you a second shot." He looked up, smirking again. "And you're not disappointing me so far."
The protectiveness the question about the chain brought up made one blue brow raise in interest. This was something he'd be prying into slowly but surely, he knew. Now that he was told it wasn't any of his business, he would be sure to make it his business.
A low chuckle left Syl's lips as he brushed his hand over the side of his leg to get the dirt off of his finger tips. "Oh, I've poke my nose - and other things - into people's private things before, and they certainly haven't been as waspish as you are. They yell, certainly, but never have they asked me to 'fuck off'. They usually don't add that second word." Yes, Jaissec had pretty much walked into that one. It couldn't be helped!

"In time, in time," Axle said as they approached the house, referring to Alejandro's comment about his artificial limbs. He didn't exactly enjoy reliving that whole scenario, but he supposed the other Pirate had a right to know what had happened.
But that would come in due time. Trust was still a slight issue here.
And of course, Alejandro's less than ecstatic reply about the house put Axle off just a smidge, but he wasn't about to allow it to ruin his day. It wasn't like it was a mansion or anything--that much was certain.
Axle rendezvoused onto the porch and gave a few slight tap-tap-taps on the door with his mechanical hand to signal that he was there. The old woman knew the sound of his metal appendage and he could hear her soft voice say, "Come in, dearie."
Twisting the knob and prying open the door (it squeaked just a tad, and Axle made a mental note to oil it some time during his stay), he shot a smile toward Alejandro and purred, "After you."

Alejandro managed to release a short breath of air once he heard a seemingly-old voice ring out towards them. It was warm, and somewhat inviting, and he immediately took a step forward but paused as he saw his temporary companion reach first to open the door. Another short huff of air escaped him, and his pupils dilated slightly as he discovered that, -hey!- he could see his breath. This wasn't good at all. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that when you're able to see your own breath in front of you, it means the air has become hypothermic. It's below the usual temperature. It's not right.
A low rumble snapped him out of his thoughts, however, and he tilted his head as he glanced over to Axle. The way his voice had sounded sent an uncomfortable yet warm chill down his spine and he suddenly thought the air wasn't that cold anymore.
"Tu eres muy elegante." the pirate couldn't help but tease and a click of his tongue soon followed his words. 'You are so elegant', he had practically said, and he had even made sure to add emphasis on that small little word that could add so much to a sentence.
Not long after speaking, he took a quick glance towards the house and he peeked inside cautiously before walking in. Nice and cozy, he pointed out to himself as he wandered around. He wouldn't have thought it be this way looking from the outside, but now that he was inside the warm cottage, the house suddenly did not appear to be of malicious or pathetic intent. Thus he could not help the smile that slowly crawled onto his soothed features as he stepped in and turned, looking back at Axle, a laugh soon slipping free from his lips.
"I feel at home already!" he chimed, and he turned to the lady whose voice he'd heard earlier. He was silent for a few seconds, before something in him just clicked and it was back to his suave spanish heritage. ""You have a magnificent little abode," Alex mused, and even waved his hand to add a little bit of emphasis to the walls in the room which he'd so calmly wandered into. "A warm home for a woman of a warm heart, I must say."
