A walk between the gates that kept the evil of the Dark City out of the Light Dome was never an easy task. However, by now, the guards between the two had learned of Jacky; the young man was almost always bouncing between, and they had gotten used to letting him through for the sake of their sanity. The rabbit would quite often let himself just talk to them until they finally got sick of hearing his cheery voice and the doors opened for him.
Once through the gates, he navigated the Light Dome with squinted blue eyes, trying to get used to the light, being as he lived in the dark. His tanned hands rubbed over his eyes, trying to make them see better, and finally he managed to find the way to the Gym he worked at, pulling a key from his short green athletic shorts, and opening up the doors. The room was quiet, for now, but that was because he'd just woken up. It'd soon be bustling with life; he just hoped that at some point, another Trainer would show up while he was here. It was hard showing people how to do this stuff on his own.

((Wooh, gonna start out with someone other than Koketsu for once. xD; Bring her in later... o3o ))
The Light Dome was like a moon. Everything was black, everything was hidden, but only the Dome shed the slightest bit of light. Only the Dome could give the 'blind' a sense of where to go. Of when there were walls or dark alleyways. It was no sun, Jaissec knew that. It was too small and its light didn't reach far enough to be a sun. It was as annoying as one, when you were inside, but outside it was only like a moon.
Jaissec had read about moons. The planet used to have one. Probably still did, now that he thought about it, just with no sun to light it up anymore. Of course... Jaissec had read a lot of things. He wondered if the moon was made up sometimes. Sometimes he wondered if the sun never existed either. Maybe they were just some thought of a lonely child who wanted a bit of light in his or her life. Maybe...
But no, neither really mattered; whether the sun and moon once truly did exist or not. He knew what a moon was supposed to be like, and therefor could say that the Light Dome was like a moon. What else was there to compare it with?
The Light Dome was the moon of the planet.
Jaissec wondered about this sometimes. Sometimes he would sit and muse for hours. Of course, it only ever happened after a good book--this musing thing. Normally he couldn't care less. Normally he would compare the Light Dome to the equivalent of a fat ogre's ass. The Light Dome irritated him. It was bright and large and he was positive it was full of flowers. Stupid flowers.
Tonight he had read some random book he had found in some random building. It asked odd questions, so that's why he was thinking about it now.
This wasn't a very normal past time for him, for sure. And he would never admit he enjoyed it. He would never tell you he liked sitting on an old roof top reading a book by the Light Dome's faint light, and then to contemplate the world and why or how it is afterword. He would never tell you these things. He'd tell you to shove it up your ass and move it along before you regretted it. That was the type of thing he admitted to.
If one could call that admittance.

To someone inside the Dome, it was like a sun. Everything was bathed in light, there were only shadows inside buildings, and darkness wasn't something anyone thought of. Roscoe didn't mind the constant light, but there was always that longing to return to the Dark City to give his eye a rest. It was, technically, his home 'town' and there was that part of him that enjoyed slinking about in the dark, avoiding major conflicts but busting up one or two guys before calling it a day.
'Lucky' for him, he got to go back into that dark area of the city more frequently than most Dome-dwellers. His parents still lived there and, even though he wasn't a part of the city guard anymore, he still liked to check up on them to make sure they weren't doing something that could possibly harm the Light part of the city. His parents usually kept their noses out of the really sticky stuff, but Roscoe had had to threaten possible arrest a few times.
The ex-guard currently was making his way through the dark (go figure) streets of the Dark City, making his way to his parent's residence. He knew the way better than the back of his hand, he had made the trip so many times. This was fortunate, since navigating the Dark City was hard enough with two eyes: not being able to see out of one made traveling here all the more dangerous. It gave possible thieves, murderers, pickpockets, and others one more angle to sneak up on you. Roscoe knew, though, that if you walked as if you owned the place, the majority of the thugs living in this area would leave you alone. His face wasn't unfamiliar, either. People - and other creatures - knew to stay away from him because he had a mean right hook and a dirty fighting streak a mile wide.
The frowning man turned the final corner and headed down a side alley to his parents back door. An odd shape on the roof of the building caught his one eye, and he directed his attention up to it to try and figure out what the hell it was. For a moment he couldn't place the shape, but when it moved ever so slightly he knew it was alive. That was reason enough to ask what the heck he - or she - was doing up there.
"Hey!" Roscoe stopped about walking so he could keep an eye on the creature. Definitely a creature - he could see a tail and the outline of wings. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

the forrest was dark only the faintest light from the light dome. kear was out as usial in the forest looking for some food but alas to no avail. after a long treck back from the forest to the walls of illuminati. "would it have killed them to make these walls just a little shorter?".
kear closesed his eyes and went into a trance he became compleatly aware of ever cell in his body. his lungs and heart and blood and skin and bones. he took a deep breath and his heart doubled in speed almost instantly. his bones wer snapping and his skin began to rip as muscle and fur tore threw it. his once handsome face became horribly disfugured for a short period before it turned into the muzle of a canine his hands and feet turned to paws and his nails turned to claws.
he stood on his hind legs and with his inital breath he exhaled and transfromation was complete. he took a seccond to get used to the hightened sences and he let out a long deep howl before quickly scailng the wall of illuminati.

Jaissec was still in his musing state of mind when a loud and grating voice called up to him. The grate in the owners voice, that accusing sound, was enough to kick that odd little musing thought right away and squash it into oblivion.
Okay. Who the fuck was this and what the fuck did they--he--want?
Jaissec leaned over, peering down between his legs at the figure standing below. Human. Freaking reeked of human and he didn't even have to TRY to smell. Now that he thought about it...this building reeked a bit like human too. Was kinda muddled up, like hidden, but not an old scent. How odd of him not to notice earlier.
"What the hell do I think I'm doing? Well, I think I'm sitting here. Actually, I'm pretty certain I am. Yeah, definitely sitting here," he spoke mockingly, an edge of boredom on his tongue even, patting around him and pinching his right, bared arm as if to test if this really was happening. "Hn... na, now that we've got that cleared up.... I think you should tell me why the hell you're speaking to me, human."

Roscoe scowled as the creature up on the roof spoke back to him. Of course, he thought to himself, we've got a wise guy on our hands. He wished they were a bit closer to the Dome so he could visibly tell what he was dealing with, but he'd have to make due with the audio clues he was being given. As he - yes, male, judging by the depth of the voice - continued to speak, the man on the ground listened more to the over-all tone and manner of speaking than the actual words. There was no slurring or odd way of speaking, so some of the lesser creatures that roamed these parts were out of the equation: trolls, goblins, creatures like that. The emphasis the creature had put on the word 'human', though, was enough information to alert Roscoe to the fact that he was probably dealing with a demon here. Super.
There were various types of demons, all with varying powers and feelings towards those from the Dome. This one, obviously, wasn't very friendly with creatures from that section of town, much less with humans. There couldn't be too much evil packed into the beast, though. If there was, Roscoe would already be fighting for his life, or possibly dead. Normally when confronted with a demon, the human would keep on walking and try to steer clear of it, but this one was sitting on his parents house. And, while he didn't care much for his parents, the fact that the demon was up there sitting on it like he owned the place was enough to get Roscoe going.
"You've got your ass parked on property that isn't yours, demon," he growled back, grey eyes staring hard up at the beast. "This might not be the Dome, but people here generally don't take too kindly to filthy creatures like yourself rubbing their greasy bodies all over their home." He wouldn't put it past his parents to come out here - if they knew, of course - and have at the demon with whatever 'clients' they were with at the time. But he had the sneaking suspicion that they weren't home at the moment, which meant he was left to defend their house. Not that the demon was really doing anything up there.
But, of course, Roscoe wouldn't see it like that. That demon was on his parents property. He might not care much for his mother and father, but he did love keeping things in-line. There were hundreds of abandoned buildings that he could sit on without someone raising a complaint. He could just shoo the demon away and be done with it. Yup. Easy.

At first, Jaissec had no inclination to bother with the human. He was probably just some dimwitted wanderer searching for some fun, or perhaps he really had a reason to be out here and just thought himself tough enough to pick fights with anything that was in or on his way. A few tough words were easily ignored. Jaissec had only planned to possibly spook the stupid creature and get him on his merry way. Even if the human was annoying, he didn't really feel like a fight tonight. The demon was actually fond of the idea of lounging about for once. Figures a smart-mouthed human had to come along who didn't know his place and where his boundaries lie in this world.
Really, did Jaissec look filthy or greasy? Sure, some demons were. There were some creatures here that weren't capable of even telling which hand was which and then were certainly inadequate at keeping themselves clean. Some creatures were just far too lazy, or enjoyed the feeling of the crusted blood of their victims all over their bodies, and some simply WERE filthy and greasy due to their breed. Certainly there were those that were like this, but Jaissec? Hell no. He wasn't some stupid low-class demon that simply worked on instinct and slugged around in his gross-self making other things tainted. He was not foul and disgusting at all. Jaissec was most certainly not some putrid and repulsive thing. How dare this human accuse him of being such! And he thought, just because he supposedly lived here that he could call Jaissec such things? What loathsome trash!
"Obviously you are blind, human. For if you were capable of sight, you would see that I am not anything of the sort! How dare you claim me to be filthy, repulsive scum that taints everything around me! You're the stupid trash around here!" Of course, that wasn't exactly what the human had said, but Jaissec's brain heard it that way. He was bad at taking insults. They often echoed louder in his head than they actually were.
"Just because you think you have some sort of claim on this house? Feh!" And, of course, the human was in all right to be rude to those on his property, if this was his property. In the dark side of the city, one had to fight for their turf. But the demon's temper had risen too high to take note of such things now.

Roscoe snorted softly at the demon's first words. He was half right, at least. He had perfect vision in his good eye, thank goodness, otherwise he probably would stay cooped up in his house in the Dome. Roscoe is not one for self-pity, but he does value his life and, knowing that bad things happen even in the security of the Dome, he would squash his desires to get out and remain in his house as often as possible. Fortunately this wasn't the case.
"There's a nice building three blocks down that has been abandoned for years. Go sit on that and you'll have no problems," the human said, standing his ground. "Hell, go sit on the neighbor's roof, just get off this one!" Roscoe didn't care much for the people next door, if you couldn't tell. They had given him grief all his life and he'd probably smile to see a demon perched on their rooftop.
Roscoe could tell that this was one of the 'higher' demons, so to speak. He was not, in fact, greasy or filthy as far as he could tell in the dim light, and he was carrying on intelligent conversation. Hopefully talking would end the little skirmish over the roof, but if it came to fighting, Roscoe wouldn't back down. His parents might be lower than the dirt under his boots, but they were his still his parents and, as an honorable and up-standing citizen and ex-guard member, it was his duty to make sure their roof was demon-free.
"I can tell you're not the run-of-the-mill idiotic demon," he added after a pause. "Why don't you use that brilliant mind and move before I come up there and make you."

Jaissec scowled, glaring down at the human. He was trying to defuse the situation. Jaissec could tell that. He was suggesting he just move, trying to keep the peace. It actually pissed him off more.
This man just wanted him to pick up and move, like if he did that, then the human could just forget all about the demon's wrong choice and they could both go on with their life. Like this human was allowing him to get off without trouble. This human thought he was the better of the two?
"Let me tell you something, human. You are in the wrong part of the city. This world, the one outside the little Light Dome of you humans, belongs to us; the creatures born in and to the dark. We have all the say here, and you are nothing more than some spineless lost lamb, who needs light for its way. So don't try to act like you're better than me." The demon couldn't hold his tone steady, in the end it grew sharp and cruel, the anger seeping out. He was never good at holding his anger. Even when he tried, it always slipped out. Really sucked.
"Besides, I like this roof, so either deal with it or go find some other house to claim. It's not like I have any interest in actually going inside, if humans are in it. Feh!"
Truthfully, beyond all his 'human this' and 'human that' insults, he didn't really have anything against them. They were simply creatures that lived in the light. It wasn't them Jaissec disliked, but the light. He couldn't care less about humans normally. It was only when they bothered him that he began to find them to be an unpleasant existence.

Roscoe smirked: ah, he was getting to him. It wasn't hard to do with demons, really, but it did please him to know that this one had patience as thin as tissue paper. Roscoe was pissy most of the time, this was true, but it was rare from him to get truly angry at someone or something. A low chuckle left him as he crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes trained on the other male. Even though one was sightless it still looked and behaved like a normal eye, thankfully. The scar drew enough stares as it was.
"There is no right or wrong part of the city for me. I've lived here the majority of my life. On another note, this darkness is hardly as wild and un-tame as the forests and deserts outside the city walls. The light from the Dome sheds some light on all of the city at all times. If you want to get back to your roots and live in the dark, get out of this city and go live in the forests." There were plenty of treetops and large rocks to sit on out there, he was sure.
This point was something he had thought of for a while, though. Ever since he joined the guard and left the dark side of the city, he had come to realize that everything and everyone inside the city's large wall were drawn to the light, even the creatures of darkness like demons. Out in the forests there was no light to speak of, and you know a place is bad when the cunning and bloodthirsty creatures that usually thrive off of places like that come to live within stone walls. They may claim to hate the light, but if they truly did, would they put themselves through that misery of living so close to its source?
"I'll give you one more chance, oh mighty and powerful demon," Roscoe said, leering up at the beast, his voice dripping with sarcasm on that last bit. "Move."

He could feel his anger rising and sharpening as though it were tangible. This fool of a human was suggesting he was a coward now. That he should go into the forests, or to the desert. That by being in the city, he was some sort of scaredy-cat. Jaissec was positive that was what this man before him was saying.
"Fool! Are you calling me a coward?! For that is hardly the reason! I do not live in the forest or deserts because I am no animal. I have told you once before that I am not filthy, and if I were to live in such places I would be," he spat out any thought that came to mind. Any excuse or reason for why this human was utterly wrong. Feh! Calling him a coward, how crude. It either was that, or this bastard was seriously challenging him. A human, challenging him for this bit of city. "The Light Dome is a sore to the eye, and I would much rather live out of its light, but I, being somewhat civili--"
And then it dawned on him. This human HAD to be challenging him. Why else would he be making such rude comments if he didn't want to get his ass kicked? Of course. And just like that, the anger inside of him seeped, and an excitement began to replaced it. A fight, huh? Actually, with his blood boiling the way it was now, that sounded like a bit of fun. Of course, a human wouldn't be much of a fight... but he'd at least provide enough of a punching bag to get rid of all the anger trapped inside him.
With that cleared up, Jaissec stood up and placed a foot on the slightly upraised edge of the roof.
"Oh, I get it now. If you wanted to commit suicide, you should have just said so to begin with. I would have gladly taken you out of your misery much earlier then."
The demon allowed a grin to spread across his features, and his red eyes flashed with the excitement and blood lust starting to flow within him.

"Perhaps," Roscoe said, that smirk still on his face. He knew he would have the upper hand if the demon continued to let his rage take over. Rage made you do stupid things, after all, and it didn't let you think clearly. If he could keep the beast on this track, he'd eventually get him off the roof one way or another.
A dark brow rose as the topic switched more to the prospect of fighting rather than talking the demon down. He did seem to be moving to the edge of the roof, but he wasn't off it just yet. Roscoe kept his gaze trained on the grinning demon, totally un-phased, the smirk still on his own face. "Suicide is not in my agenda for the day. All I want is for you to get off the roof." If that meant luring him down with a fight, then so be it. He could use the exercise and hadn't had a good bout in a while. Had to keep his skills sharp for when he was attacked unexpectedly, after all.
"Look, you're almost off. All you need to do is jump about ten feet to the left and this conversation is over." One last ditch effort to get out of this peacefully. We'll see how that goes over with the battle-ready demon.

The demon's nerves twitched and he prepared himself to attack. This stupid human was just so set on getting him to move. So what if he owned the place? He wanted to sit here!
...
Actually... Now that he really thought about it... That was all the human wanted to begin with right? Jaissec was positive he could defeat him, so why make it that easy? Wouldn't it bother the human more if he didn't move? Maybe that was his plan to begin with? Start a fight just to get him off the roof. That was a little extreme... but he'd heard all sorts of odd things about humans and their extremes. Not to say demons and other creatures couldn't be extreme too, just that humans were weirder about it. Realizing that was possibly what the human wanted, Jaissec stood up straight and crossed his arms.
"Che, you know what? I think I've changed my mind. If you want me down so bad, come get me yourself!" And Jaissec sat back down with a plop, turning his head and acting as though the human wasn't there. The demon absent-mindedly played with the chain coming from his neck and did his best to ignore the man.
