[[Yay for grand opening? ;A; <3]]
As always it seemed like the dead of night. The only lights were those few in the buildings around her and the dull glow of the light dome in the distant. She, being the cat demon Koketsu, sat attop a large building looking out into the black distance. Every so often she wondered what was really out there--everyoen had heard stories, and possibly one day she would go find out, but not now, not yet. She hadn't the drive to do it now.

Even in the darkness there seemed to be a sort of schedule. People tended to have some inner sense to sleep at a certain time. Being a cat demon, her senses were the opposite of normal people's. Though, in this place, no one was trully normal. Normal was the light, not the dark.
Though every now and there, she came across a time of complete silence. No shouting, now fighting, no creeping creatures. For once it seemed... quiet.

[[Hoping to get this started at least a little?]]
Koketsu sighed, trying to make her boredom so apparent that even the air silent creatures sleeping in the ever-lasting night would know.
She was just waiting for something interesting to happen. A fight, the scream of an unsuspecting victim, anything. She hated these silent moments in the night. They made her uneasy.

Niji walked out of her boarding house. Since everyone in the surrounding rooms was asleep, Niji had assumed it was night. She could never tell, since the artifical sun was always on.
A small breeze swept through the area. Niji jumped at the slightest sound, cautious, as she headed to the dark part of the city. She had always been curious about that part of the city but she never had the motivation to venture to it.

Koketsu's eyes carefully swept over the huge Light Dome. She knew, since she'd been there before, that there was no set time of night or day. Just as there was no set time here in the Dark City. She did know that that time of queit, where almost everyone was asleep, was very rare in the Dome. It was rare where she lived, but even more rare in the Dome. People seemed to always be moving there.
The cat demon couldn't understand how anyone could deal with all that light all the time. She didn't mind it here and there, just a little, but the dark was much more peaceful. It protected you much better than the light did too.
It would be pointless to fear everything around you, so by living in the outter city she had learned to use dark to her advantage verses fear it. Fearing it only brought the fearer death.

Niji continued her trek to the darkness, going in zig zags in case she was being followed. As she got closer, the shadows became more apparent. Niji wasn't scared, nervous maybe, but never scared. If anything happened, she had her dagger.

Koketsu lay back to look at the sky. The concrete of the building has hard against her back, but she was a cat, she could lay anywhere, anyway, and still be fine. The let herself be momentarily hypnotized by the stars.
After a moment she pulled herself back together. She did not want to be caught anaware. Hm.. what shall she do? Maybe she'll go mess with the guards? They are always so much fun to play with. Especially the skittery bunch.
Koketsu sat up, pulled herself up, and quickly jumped in the direction of the Dome. The Guards were always out, and she had memorized a few of their schedules. She knew at least one of the skittery ones were out tonight. That is what she will do--play with a poor human's nerves.
"Nyahaha!" She giggled to herself in excitement at a reached decision.

Everything was dark,as usual.Although she wasn't expecting any light, she certainly wasn't expecting a loud ringing noise. "Lousy clock, now, how do I turn you off?"Dell began, her grogginess expressed in her words. Her eyes half open, she picked up the clock with blurry vision, eventually pressing the snooze button and setting back on the floor. She opened her eyes then closed them tightly, wishing to sleep soundly,if that was possible in the heat of the desert. It could have been worse though, through stories passed down, when the sun still existed, the desert was a much hotter place. Dell smiled, then slowly rose from her bed,her arms doing all the work, only to slump back down into her little bed The clock began to buzz again,Dell groaned with little enthusiasm. She quickly turned it off, with better vision this time around, and picked herself up off her bed Throwing on whatever had been in her pile of clean clothes, her usual dress down to the knees with long pants to finish with slender black boots.Turning back to the clock, she picked up the comb next to it and began to run it through her hair. "Mother, did you check when the next steam train is coming?"Dell yelled from across the house, echoing slightly.Hopefully, the clock had rung enough times to wake her mother as well. "It's passing as we speak, little one!Hurry!"she yelled, tossing a stale piece of bread to her before rushing into the garage. It was stale, but it was better than the usual nothing until about mid-day,or night,or day,or whatever they were calling it these days. "I'm outta here then,I'll catch a ride with Jon,the dune buggy isn't ready yet, needs a better fuel injector and maybe one of those thrust packs they started selling at the market."Dell yelled, running up the stairs to leave her room and down the stairs to leave the house.

[[ oh mah gawd here we go. ]]
Making his way through the darkness and maze of a grove of trees, Ramses scanned the area with light red eyes before moving on. He was cautious of some of the loonies that lived out in the forest, but for now it seemed that only the tree branches scratching at his skin were going to be a nuisance as he made his way back to the secluded house where he lived.

She could tell, just a little, that the time of quiet was slowly, ever so slowly, easing up. It was still very dull in the outter city, but things were starting to happen. Creatures were rising from their slumbers. It might be another hour or two before anything exciting happened though, Koketsu knew that.
As she quickly made her way towards the Light Dome, hopping and skipping, she watched how its light got brighter and brighter. Until it was getting increasingly annoying then she payed more attenion to where her feet were going even though she didn't need to.
It was only a few more paces to the immediate outside of the Light Dome. She stopped just before the buildings of the outter city stopped, keeping in their shadows. Koketsu did not want to ruin her fun by alerting any guards there. Swiftly, she made her way towards an entrance point she knew had one of the more skittish and human guards.

It didn't take more then a minute or two before she caught sight of the guard she was planning to pester. He was scrawny for a guard and acted much tougher then he really was. It was all just a face. At the slightest odd noise He'd cower behind his companion guard in fear.
She always found it amusing.
Koketsu carefully hid herself in the darkness of the buildings. She knew if the guard looked her way he'd see two pairs of glowing red eyes reflecting from the light of the Dome. She knew he'd be scared silly at that alone. The cat tried desperately to hold in her giggle and forcably turned in into a low hiss that slowly built and got louder.
The guard jumped as soon as the sound reached his ears. This time Koketsu couldn't keep in the giggle, but she tried to make it sound as menacing as possible.
"Wh-who's out there?! Show yourself! I am a guard of the Light Dome!" anounced the guard stupidly. His companion elbowed him in the gut and told him to shut up. He was much more experienced and knew how to handle situations better. You do not act nervous while patrolling the entrances. It gave the evils of the dark city the courage to force its way in.

Jonathon yawned lazily,not bothering to cover his not-so-good-looking-teeth.Other pirates close by were yawning as well. The steam trains were wising up to the pirates,leaving at more obscure times;earlier,later,any time the operators felt like it,e.t.c. Sometimes,they wouldn't release the date until the day before,leaving many unable ride out of their sleep patterns or vehicles needing work done. Many wouldn't make it,earlier rides tended to be the fastest,at least,that's what Jonathon thought.Meaning items of more value would be aboard. But then,another problem would arise,which section of the train do you trail,the front,risking detection by operators?The middle?The tail end,where they usually placed passengers?Nobody knew because the operators would switch them around. It was guess-and-check until somebody messed up,received a thwack to the head or torso,or worse,a bullet to the head or vehicle.The vehicle would either explode or send them crashing into others. Jonathon rubbed his eyes,keeping the steering wheel under control with his knees.His hovercraft lazily slid over the soft sandy hill then back down again.He flicked a smile on as he saw Dell waving her hands over her head,motioning for him to come over.Several others people were doing the same,motioning to their partners to come pick them up.One was knocked down,apparently no longer liked by the driver. Jonathon chuckled while he reached the top of the hill,slowing for Dell to hop in. He quickly revved up the engine and flew down the hill,several more before the big one,the largest hill in the desert,man-made of course. To protect pirates and have momentum on their side,to force more speed to catch up with the steam trains. "So,are you all ready?"Dell squealed excitedly,a large smile painted on her face. "Why does the twenty-nine year old woman have to sound like a school girl every morning?"Jon began in a sarcastic tone,holding back a smile. "Oh,phooey,you say that every time we're on a raid,just drive!"Dell responded,less kindly,"Let's just have some fun!" Everyone began to slow as they reached the top of the big hill,waiting for the train.Everything was silent,if you weren't counting the coughing of an older man and everyone saying "shh!" to him. Jon focused on the soft sound of the steam train,little ways way from where they were.Dell was too busy star gazing to notice the sound. The train crossed the river,the rattling of the bridge told them so. The rustling of trees seems to go on forever. The silver of the train gleamed in the moonlight and engines began to roar.The steam train was much louder,making their deeds easier. {[(I'll finish tomorrow)]}

Niji had finally made it to the edge of the Light Dome. She could see the guards standing at their postions. She crept up as silently as she could, until she was standing directly behind one of the guards.
Niji took her index finger and slowly slid it down the guards' back. She giggled silently, as the guard shivered and jumped away from her. Niji waved at the guards as she walked by them, heading out of the Light Dome.

Once he had entered his house, he just stood there and questioned what to do next. He didn't feel like eating, didn't feel like sleeping, and didn't really feel like staying in the house to begin with. His eyes wandered to look out the window and saw nothing but the various plants that grew out side of it, hiding anything that would even be worth looking at if it were there. Making up his mind on what to do, he grabbed his long drag, a few cigarettes, and his lighter to take outside with him, where he sat out behind his house and stared into the nothingness of the forest as smoked curled around him.
