Koketsu giggled more at the poor guards. The Dome walls, which were see-through and glossy like glass, produced a light that worked inwards. It was a very odd structure. Only near the ground was the lighting of the walls dim enough to look out of from the inside. The dome's sky was too bright to look at for long let alone see anything. From the outside it was just like looking through lit up glass.
Koketsu wondered who could have possibly come across the way to make such a building. It was beyond her comprehension.
The cat demon dismissed her thoughts on the Dome and concentrated on the fidgity guard. He was nervous still, but after she had moved and silenced herself the guard could no longer tell she was there. Finally she let out a low, odd noise that made them both jump.
"Stop fooling with us," came the calm yet demanding call of the companion gaurd.
"Oh chill, mighty patrollers. I come in peace--mostly. I was just a bit bored, you see...," Koketsu replied.
"Cat demon! You have a habit of messing with guards. I should have known it was you," the same guard asumed.
Koketsu let out a cat-like laugh and jumped out into the not-far traveling light of the dome, "Yes, you caught me! Sheesh, you guys need to learn to live a little. Loosen up. Heehee."
Neither of the guards seemed to find the same humor in the situation as she did.
Koketsu looked beyond them and through the thick, mostly unbreakable, glass doors that seperated the part of the city covered by the Light Dome by the part that wasn't. It was very bright, like always. She was debating asking entry. She needed to restalk up on Pocky. She was getting low again.

The steam from the Steam Train covered the sky like a cloud. Dell loved to gaze at it,twirling about with the stars, but she had a job to do,clouds were better than steam anyways. "Eeny meeny miny moe, which way will we go?"Jonathon began in a amusing sing-song voice. Dell nearly fell out when she jerked her hand forward, pointing toward a section in between several passenger sections. "Off we go then,"Jonathon said, pressing on the gas pedal as they hurtled down hill. Some people were yelling, happy to be on the raid.Jonathon smiled,he wasn't the only one having fun. "WOOHOO! TO THE RAID!"Dell yelled at the top of her lungs, standing up in the vehicle, balancing herself, pretending to surf the stand. Several others joined in the fun, hollering and standing up to show off their balance which, apparently, wasn't a male pirate's strong point.None of the human males tried.Several other species did,but barely. "That's enough,Dell."Jonathon yelled pulling her back down as they pushed on closer to the train. "Nearly their. . ."Dell began, her voice trembling, she was never good about getting the hovercraft to stick to the train with a special magnet. It was completely impossible to stick to the sections, using special metals that repel magnets no matter what the charge. The challenge was trying to get right next to one of the hooks in between the sections, quickly turning on the magnet(which would drain the vehicle's battery pretty quickly),and connecting with the hook. "Now,"Jonathon yelled, still keeping calm. "I can't,go faster!"Dell said, fidgeting with the magnet. The vehicle jerked forward, with Jonathon yelling through the noises of the train and roar of other engines,"Fifth thruster pack, last one!" The vehicle jerked one more time, finally connecting. "Finally!"Dell said excitedly. "And look,we're the only ones that made it!I told you buying a new fuel injector and extra thruster packs would work"Jonathon responded, waving to the others, who seemed to be throwing little fits all be themselves.

After a moment of silence and obvious tension the gaurd's parts Koketsu decided against it. She really didn't feel like venturing into the Light Dome. The brightness of it irritated her and gave her a headache.
A grin grew across her face as she said, "Well, you only proved to amuse this cat for a very short time tonight boys. Do try to do better next time!" With that said she turned and quickly disapeared into the darkness leaving the suspicous and confused guards behind.
She wasn't sure what she'd do now. Search for some spark of interest in the city maybe?

After going through about four cigarettes, and starting to get bored with the sky, the tall man stood up and went back into his house for a moment. There, he grabbed some money and a black jacket which he put on but did not zip up, leaving his tattooed torso exposed. Ramses walked out, locked the door, put the hood to his jacket up to hide his face, and stalked quietly to where he'd need to go to be able to get to the Light Dome. As much as he hated the place, he did need some things from there - such as bear traps and other things to keep the wild things that roamed in the forest away from him.

With only moments to spare with the magnet now connected,Dell began to pick the lock, her spare hair pin shoved into the lock. "We have,"Jonathon began, taking a glance back at the readings of the hovercraft,"About six or seven minutes.Let's get going," "We're in,"Dell muttered under her breath before pushing open the door. Jonathon followed in from behind, keeping low to the ground. Usually, there were never guards. If there were though, there was definitely something to be taking. The chance of a pirate being able to raid at least once in a month was rare. Two or three times in a year was about for any good pirate.Others, they would never make it,having to resort to selling goods that others bring.Making a home in the canyon and selling it was quite popular, especially for those who still had to live out on the sands.Owning a tavern, you'd be rolling in riches, almost every pirate drank and the food was cheap, though not very good. But you didn't have to make it yourself. Halfway through the section and there was no whispering, muffled breathing,or footsteps(other than their own). He rose from off his crouched position and sighed. There wouldn't be anything exceptional to take, but at least there were boxes of food, devices, other such items.Good for selling at the least. "Good thing it's headed for the canyon,we'll be able to bring more-"Jonathon stopped, staring back at a guard, apparently having hidden in a box in the back. "Freeze!"the guard demanded, pointing his gun at them.Quite a peculiar piece of weaponry equipment. It looked like a small barrel almost, but you slipped your hand into the back to fire.Blue glowing lines were drawn into it. Jonathon obeyed, staying quite still, but Dell had already drawn her scimitar and launched herself at the guard. The guard only smirked, firing a blast of energy her way.You could clearly see the energy moving through the air,it would have been entertaining,if it hadn't hit Dell. She flew halfway across the room and landed with a thud on several boxes.Having had to turn around to watch Dell fly half way across the room,Jonathon rapidly drew his gun and aimed at the man.He didn't fire right away though. That was left to the guard who turned to him and fired a second shot. Jonathon placed a cruel smile across his face, stepping to the side of the harmless gun, placing a bullet in it before walked up to him. The guard screamed, having taken a shot at the gun,his hand received all the pain.Blood was pouring like a fountain from his broken, nearly missing hand.Several shards of the gun deep within the wounds. Jonathon pointed his gun at the young man's head,he could have had his whole life ahead of him,but no longer if Jonathon chose so.The guard whimpered, the gun pressed against his forehead,he stared up at the pirate. "Mercy?"he pleaded, tears now falling down his cheeks. "Men shouldn't hit women,"Jonathon uttered defiantly and pulled the trigger. The man slumped to the ground, motionless

Jonathon couldn't but laugh. He had never pleaded with anyone other than his mother when he was a child. But no one would know about that.Childhood was nothing important to him. The guards eyes were still wide open, filled with shock. But now, they seemed dull, they had lost their luster. Jonathon turned to where Dell lay and walked over to her, through the the maze of boxes,he sorted in his mind what would be better to take. Dell had landed on her back, her eyes closed, her arms slumped over to her right, one hand holding her scimitar. She was an amusing, pleasant friend.Ever since he found her, even though,at the time, she was drunk out of her mind. Jonathon laughed,he still remember the first thing she said to him. "Why do you want to be a pirate?"a young him asked curiously "The call of the sand, the soft winds in the dark, the fast speeds of the vehicles, the thrill of getting away with the theft, and the muscular men that don't bother to put shirts on!"Dell yelled, attracting the attention of the waitresses who hollered an agreement. Before Jonathon knew what he was doing,he had his arms around her,her head on his chest, resting his head on top of her head. She stirred slightly, mumbling something about bruises in the morning. "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?!"Dell yelled, pushing him away. She squirmed in her spot, making weird faces with her shoulders moving about. "I thought we talked about this?Just friends?"Dell said, trying to be as nice as possible. She wore a reassuring smile, patting his head. "The magnet wore off a couple minutes ago"Jonathon began, looking down at the gun still in his hand before placing it back in it's holster. "Are you serious? But,where are we headed then?"Dell asked. "Phantasma"Jonathon replied, opening one of the boxes, picking several fruits, and tossing some to here.

It was never easy living in the dark, outter part of the city. Koketsu wondered if it would be the same in Phantasma, or any of the other cities out there, for that matter.
It was known that everyone used the Steam Train to go there, or to simply get out. The walls were easier to get out of only if you were a good jumper and on a tall enough building. And only the very brave or very dumb used the plants of the Forest to get out. It was most easy to force your way on the train. If you are from the outter city and allow a strong guard to accompany you though, the train would allow you on without a fight, she had heard.
The strong guard was to ensure the creature they were accompanying didn't get 'out of hand' and cause problems. The cat figured it was because they'd rather put all their 'problem' creatures on a different city, not have to deal with them themselves.
Oh, what 'mighty' patrollers of the city we have! So afraid of the powers of their own shadows that they are willing to tie the shadows to another! What a pathetic world she lived in!

Wind was an interesting thing. It didn't matter if there was light or not. It was something you could feel, something you could reach for although you couldn't grasp it. Something that would always remain as long as there was life. And when there wasn't, no one would be able to tell it was missing. Water was similar in that way. You could feel it and hold it, reach but not grasp, be surrounded and yet be able to break free at any moment. Water and air. And when they came together, ice was their child.
She was away from both cities right then, wondering the empty expanses in between. No one was about anymore than they were alive. It was as if the very essence of life had been sapped from this area, from those who had once inhabited it and from the things that had once radiated green instead of brown. But these things had long since rotted and died, covering the ground with a thick tangle of debris. But it was no bother, not really. As dark as it was, what was on the ground wasn't much of a concern. What was around you, or following was.
The girl showed no fear, at least in appearance. Wondering through the darkness wasn't new, but it was troublesome. Fire was something unusable- not because it wouldn't be of help, but because the sight of the flame terrified her beyond wits. It stole away her logic and rendered her helpless as a newborn. Fire was not necessary, neither its heat or its light. But light was not something she was deprived of. Clutched in her hand and strung on a firmly woven black cord was a glowing orb no bigger than a pinky's fingernail. Magical light lit the immediate area around it, a small orb of light in the dark.
Though she would never admit it, she was headed for the city of light. What was its name? Lumina? Liminata? Did it matter, really? All she knew was that she had to travel this desolate road to a train station, and the Steam Train would take her to the city. The city of light- and of heat. When was the last time she'd really seen anything beyond what the small orb could show her? The city of darkness was, as its name imagined, dark. None there needed the light, and there was little one could do to get ahold of such light. Or at least, that was what she had come to believe. Coming back after so long was like stepping, well, into the light for the first time after being shrouded in darkness. It seemed unreal anymore.
"I'm getting closer. The station can't be too far away now." A smug smile spread across the girl's face as she picked up the pace just a little. This was one train she couldn't afford to miss.

So, Koketsu decided. She'd head towards the Train loading area near the edge of the city. There was always something going on there. People coming and going. The guards near the enterance were said to be unmovable unless you were causing problems.
There was no way she'd do something as stupid as cause problems there. The guards probably weren't human--and if they were, they were chemically enhanced to be just as good as not. Koketsu was strong and could hold her own against many, but she was not invincible. Guards trained to deal with the dangers of outside were not meant to be teased with playful 'trouble'.
Of course, that doesn't mean she couldn't tease them a little with un-'trouble' teasings. She had been there before a while ago. The guards then weren't human then. The cat demon had seen little human boys and girls making faces at them. At that time she was there purely on business. A stupid wolf had decided to mess with her and she had to pay him back. Good thing he moved to Phantasma. He would be dead at this moment.
Koketsu wanted to make faces at the guards. She wanted to poke them and see if she could get a rise out of them. Last time they didn't even smile! Maybe she'd try acting seductive? If they were guys then... well... they would be guys! She was sure she could do better than those little snot-nosed brats!
While she thought, Koketsu was carefully, but quickly, making her way there. It would take a little while--even at full speed. She wasn't exactly close to the entry of Illuminati.

The steam train was awfully loud from the outside.Unbearable to stand next to without ear plugs. But,inside,it was a dull quite, other than the occasional apple core to the floor. Suddenly, the steam slammed to a stop.Throwing the pair a couple of inches of where they had been. "What in the world?!Haven't they heard of slowing down?"Dell whined, picking herself up and rubbing her bottom. "There must not be well paying customers aboard. This is probably mainly for transportation of goods, this ride,"Jonathon muttered, using a box to help himself up. "Well,I'm not about to be caught in a city, let's get out of here!"Dell whispered, sneaking towards the door. "May I ask why we are whispering?"Jonathon asked, following her to the door. "Guards come to check the sections. If we're found,we're talking serious jail time."Dell told him, motioning for him to keep following. They were headed toward the opposite door they had come out of.There were two doors on each side, heading forward,to the front, would be the safer bet,as guards checked earlier sections. As they tip-toed by,Dell glanced at the guard that had knocked her back about thirty minutes ago. "Wow,you did some real damage there,Jon.Couldn't you take it easy and just knock him out?"Dell asked, giving him an unusual look, one that said "what were you thinking?!" "Let's just focus on getting out of here,"Jonathon replied hastily, wanting despreately to avoid thinking what he even had been thinking.Other than wanting revenge for his partner. The door where they had originally come from turned, creaking while it did, grabbing Jonathon's attention. "Damn it all,"he cursed under his breath.Having been headed toward the other door,he ran back toward the door, pulling out his gun before he slipped behind the door before it opened. Dell gasped, jumping in between a row of boxes before being noticed by a young,wire-thin guard. The young man went to grab a box,but Jonathon was already pointed his gun at the young man's skull. "Don't mind us,we're just leaving,if you don't mind,"Jonathon said calmly.

The young guard looked as though he were about to cry. This was the second time in one full rotation of twenty-four hours (since you couldn't say day) that Jonathon was pointing his gun at someone's head. Though,he did feel immense guilt,he knew,in the end, there was the choice to live or die. Whether the mistakes were what it took to live on even a pitiful existance. "Hold on just a moment,"Dell yelled, getting up from off the floor, brushing off her dress and pants, smiling at the young man. Jonathon withheld a glare, she was up to something. "Let's not be hasty about this problem.I say, let's make a bargain."Dell said with a playful smile. She wandered over to the two men and placed her hands on her hips slowly. One hand held something tightly. Jonathon smirked, resisted a laugh, put his gun back in its holster, and laid back against the wall of the section while chuckling. "Bargain?"the young man stuttered weakly. Dell's smile only widened as she dropped the shiny pieces of silver and gold. The young man's jaw dropped,he sank to the floor. He stretched out his hand to touch it,but withdrew immediatly, remembering his duties. But was his job worth riches? "Silver and Gold are rare for our withering planet. They are no longer found in mines or rivers like they used to be.So,these,"Dell picked up a few pieces and dropped them again,"Are worth more than just several year's salary,am I correct?" The young man stood up again, keeping his eyes on the collection of shining money. His lower lip trembled before he spoke,"What do you need done,m'am?" "Leave, tell your superior this section was empty,a trap for any pirates, but play stupid, your obviously new. Then,go to the operator, tell him the steam train is on leave to Illuminati, for emergency pick-up. He'll start the train,we leave, you quit this job, sell your gold,I suggest getting a new job, live happily ever after, and never talk of this.If anyone ever asks, tell them your just a lucky ducky and that a generous friend left them to you in death." He nodded picked up the gold and silver and stuffed it into his pockets like a child at a candy store. He then walked out, closing the door behind him. A few minutes passed and the train jerked forward with renewed life. Dell squealed, having found the gold and silver that was rarely ever found upon a train, even more rarely by a pirate. "We're rich,we've hit the jackpot!"Dell yelled, jumping up and down. "And we're headed to Illuminati. How does that help?Jumping off a steam train is nearly impossible. We'd die."Jonathon stated plainly, but alas, smiling about their success. "We'll have enough riches to buy a real vehicle, the fastest, not even the best pirates will be able to beat it!And I will finally be known as Captain Del'Naris!"Dell put one foot on top of a box, took her scimitar and whipped it into the air, making somewhat of a pirate-ish pose. She was so wrapped around the possibilities, she wasn't even thinking about how to get off the heap of specialized metal and steam. "Of course. . ."Jonathon said with a sly smile while his memories flew him back to a time when he was captain. . .

It seemed to be quiet everywhere. She had been wondering if that time of quiet was only specific to certain places. It seemed it wasn't tonight--nothing was happening. Koketsu found her run toward the Train Boarding Area very boring. It would take her 30 minutes before she was close enough to see the light that surrounded the boarding area. And another ten just to reach it. Once she was there she was sure it would be worth it.
No matter how she disturbed her surroundings, if there was no out out, there was no way she'd amuse herself. She had friends a while ago, but several of them got killed and the rest (two, a man and a woman) had decided to go to Phantasma. Koketsu didn't want to follow them for one reason: a happy--well, as happy as you could be when you just lost half of those you cared for--couple deserved their privacy. She was only a kid when they left and knew she would be too troublesome for them. She had promised to visit the next year but it had never happened. It had almost been two years since then. Koketsu really planned to visit one day, really, but she wouldn't be surprised if it never happened.
People too easily forgot of each other when the only constant they knew was the dark.
The cat demon's tail twitched in excitement. She could just barely see the glimmer of light ahead of her, not in the same direction that the dome was. It would only take five or so more minutes before she could see the top!
Koketsu glanced down with her keen eyes to watch the buildings and rubble pass away around her and below her feet. Building hopping was the fastest way to move but it could sometimes leave you open from below if others knew you were coming and could time you perfectly. She wasn't worried about this now, she could sense no one besides those hidden and most likely in sleep. It only amused the cat to see the world pass beneath her.

The sky was a lit with many stars, but the moon outshined them all.It was like the new sun,in a way,for those who would give a care to glance at the sky.Nothing really changed though. Demeir smiled slyly. "Finally,"he said softly to himself,"A day off" He sighed, his eyes partially closed, giving him a look of fatigue. But it helped him relax,so what if some woman thought of him as unusual. After all,he was quite unusual. His glanced around, looking for what door he would wander out off this time around. To the back, more darkness, not a lit with moonlight. To bother some unknown creature,to feed perhaps. He hadn't had his fill of blood in a time. He yawned, covering his mouth quickly with his hand, his fangs a bright white. It was a humanly act,to cover one's mouth when yawning, but to keep the common amused,he would do so. Quite bothersome though, such trivial lives lead, especially in this decade. It seemed some had no real personality, they left it to the unnatural to behave in a more human manner. And so they had learned, adapted, and such. But continueing on,the the front, where a group seemed to be gathering, waiting for the steam train. He knew so,several carried lugage, some had children tugging on their sleeves, others stood in each other's arm. "Well,I suppose the common will do for amusement for now."he muttered to himself. He stopped suddenly and took out a map of the town,Illuminati. He had remembered he had hidden something out of site, before the guards followed him tediously because he had taken a moment to mock them openly in the crowd. He cared not for the common's monotonous laughter, but for the guard's anger and the fact that he could usually get them to smash into something so that they would bleed. To,at the least, smell blood would excite him,it always had such effect on him.Memories of similar instances bloomed in his mind, bringing a seductive smile to his face. He began to crumple the map as he continued on walking, tossing it in a trash receptacle as he passed it,carelessly throwing it over his shoulder, making it into the basket. He walked out,the two guards standing watch grumbled,"Behave yourself,Mr.Bloodrose,or else you won't be going back," He ignored them, their words would be their blade when he got back.Of course,he wouldn't be allowed to kill,or seriously injure, either two.But he could pick a fit easily. Now,there was a wall to deal with, but, perhaps,he would deal with it later. He opened his mouth to taste the air, mostly fresh,if you didn't count the guards with their putrids selfs and. . .a cat demon? How percuiliar,he didn't usually smell someone that wasn't a common,a plain boring human, though, some could have quite the life/personality. He turned toward the scent of the young women. Her clothes,a turqiouse coat, with red and black worn beneath. An interesting colour combination. One arm seemed much larger,a larger cat demon's paw stuck out sorely, like a hand with a thumb and no fingers,as he thought, sorely. It did not smell like her though, perhaps she 'borrowed" it from someone. He waited, still standing, still waiting, for the women to notice her observer.

She hurried on, passing through a seemingly endless glade of what felt like tall grasses. But who was she to know what it was? It could have been the dead prying fingers of spirits long past, or even those of her fellow mortals. Bone-like and hollow, consistant prying fingers. What would happen if they ever caught hold? Best not to even think about it. How far could the station be from there? She'd been going for days now, not even sure if it was the right direction. But she'd gone, hadn't turned back, hadn't given up. At least, not yet she hadn't. And hopefully, she wouldn't ever. But that was yet to be determined, and making up her mind now wouldn't do much to change it.
Her feet began to drag. Weariness and sleep-deprivation were making her dizzy. Tired, put it mildly. I can't stop. Not now that I'm this far.. I don't know how often the train goes in, I don't know if it'll come back or not. It's now or never. Even her thoughts seemed painful to think, but trudging on, she thought she saw another light. Another light? Energy began to surge, and her legs began to move a fraction of a fraction faster. Her sword tapped against her side rhythmically with each step, her pendant grasped tightly and unseeingly in her closed hand. "Almost there."
She began to notice rubble now, the remnants of long-gone buildings, most likely erected by her own kind. It was funny, really, how she could still consider humans her own kind when she was so different. So eternally different, now that she didn't even know if she could die. But apparently, she could fall. Lost in her own thoughts, the girl tripped over a rather large piece of stone, tumbling to the ground and bumping her head against another rock. Pulling herself to her feet, she felt her forehead, and the cold sticky liquid that could only be her blood. A short curse escaped her mouth as she tried to tuck her unruly hair out of the way. What would someone say if she showed up, expecting to board the train, with blood all over her face? They'd refuse to let her on, that's what would happen.
Water wasn't really her area of expertise, but it was the key ingredient for the element that more or less kept her alive. Uncorking a small vial no larger than her pinky, she poured the water out into the air. It immediately hovered in a small pool, awaiting instruction. Things like this never ceased to amaze her. The water just hung like suspended rain, never moving until she either stepped away or made it. But who was she to complain. She swiped at the water with her hand, cleaning if of its stains before she moved it slowly to her forehead, washing the blood away. Once fairly certain it was all cleaned and away, she let the water fall to the ground, making a small splash and turning the ground dark before it was eaten up by the parched dirt. She rubbed the wound with the inside of her sleeve, sure that it had stopped before she continued on her way. At the very least, the fall had woken her back up.
The station was close now. Very close. Not much of a building, but it was there, marking the place to board the train that would take her into a world of light and no darkness, of certainty instead of shadows. "You're almost home, you're almost home."

When she was nearly upon the lighted boarding are of the station her tail flicked about at the end with mild anticipation. Koketsu knew there would be people about. She knew there would be at least people to watch. It would not be dead there no matter how quiet and dead it was around it.
After arriving she hid in the shadows for a moment, looking for the perfect opportunity to walk into the lighted area without freaking people out. She chose the moment right after a large group walked by. The cat slowly and casually followed.
If she appeared relaxed she knew those around her would feel better. It was not unusual to see creatures that were not human here. It seemed more dull then usual tonight, but she could sense something else. At first Koketsu took it as the guards. She could see two already. They seemed to be a little nervous. Had they run into trouble recently?
"Heheh," she wondered how well they'd take her. The low chuckled had caught the attention of a couple people. At catching a few eyes she only grinned largely and continued toward the guards.
Suddenly a tingle ran up her back. The type of tingle she only got when eyes were on her, not the kind of eyes that were fearful or innocently curious--these eyes seemed...different. Like something of power looking upon her. The cat's tail puffed just barely. No one would notice it unless they knew to look for it. She hated letting the chills get to her. It wasn't that Koketsu was afraid, but the tingle she always got when someone of interest was watching her always made her tail poof.
Carefully, Koketsu turned toward the direction of where she felt the stare coming from. There. A...Vampire?
This time the hairs on her neck rose, vampires were almost always bad news. They were unpredictable.
